150 MW Lund Hill Solar Now Powering the Grid in Washington

AVANGRID has reached success in activating their mighty 150 MW Lund Hill solar farm in Klickitat County, Washington. This solar plant, the largest in Washington state, will power Puget Sound Energy’s Green Direct program, allowing sizable businesses and government entities to purchase 100% of their energy from specific, nearby renewable energy sources. Pedro Azagra, AVANGRID’s CEO, commented that Lund Hill is “a major milestone for us at AVANGRID and is evidence of our determination to hasten the energy industry’s transition in the U.S.” We are glad to join forces with Puget Sound Energy to support their aims of lowering emissions and delivering dependable energy to their customers. Mary Kipp, President and CEO of PSE, is enthused to observe the Lund Hill project of AVANGRID fully functioning, as it supplies PSE with power generated from the most significant solar studio in Washington. This project will be beneficial to our Green Direct patrons in achieving their objectives of utilizing clean energy, and in turn, work towards a positive future by emphasizing sustainable energy consumption. AvanGrid’s facility will provide solar services for Public Service Electric’s Green Direct program, to which over 40 customers have currently signed up, including six government agencies from Washington, for instance the Departments of Health, Ecology, and Transportation, among others. Lund Hill stands on about 1,800 acres, a mix of area leased from the Washington Department of Natural Resources and from private landowners – the first solar land lease in the state.
