250 MW Pisgah Ridge Solar Project Comes Online

Duke Energy’s newest commercial brand, DESS, has opened its largest solar facility yet: the 250 MW Pisgah Ridge Solar operation in Navarro County, Texas. This is an initiative conducted by Charles River Laboratories International Inc. As one of the top suppliers of research apparatus and integrated aids for pharmaceutical exploration and creation, they now have a digital power acquisition accord for 102 megawatts of the scheme over the next 15 years. Meijer and one other unnamed company have signed VPPA’s with a total of 15 years in order to fulfill the entire electric power load of the company in North America. The agreements of both of these companies account for more than 90% of the output of the facility. The three VPPAs will be set up on an as-generated basis linked to the power production of the project in real-time. Chris Fallon, President of Duke Energy Sustainable Solutions, expresses his enthusiasm for furthering development in the Texas solar sector. This project shows how we can further extend our renewable energy sources and give specialized eco-friendly solutions to corporate clients. Moss did the engineering and construction work on the project while Duke Energy Sustainable Solutions will maintain ownership and be in charge of running the facility. At its busiest time, the project provided employment for about 300 people.
