99-MW solar project now supplying energy to Wisconsin grid
Before the end of December 14th, 2023. Alliant Energy reported that the Wautoma Solar Project has been concluded successfully, which is a mark of progress in the utility’s shift to cleaner and more renewable sources of energy. A huge solar energy system, pushing 99 megawatts of power, covers 123 acres and includes almost 240,000 bifacial solar panels in the Waushara County town of Dakota and city of Wautoma. The Wautoma Solar Project is capable of supplying enough electricity every year to provide for the needs of around 26,000 homes. Alliant Energy Corporation is an energy company that provides natural gas and electricity to customers in Wisconsin and Iowa. Ben Lipari, assistant VP of resource development at Alliant Energy, declared the finishing of the project an outstanding success that will supply dependable, affordable energy to their clients for many years. This initiative is a collaboration between our landowners, local authorities, and the wider Waushara County society. It has been and will remain that way. We incorporated a special feature into our project planning that entailed taking advantage of the Wautoma airfield’s unused space, which permitted us to expand the scope of the undertaking and capitalize on land that was not being fully exploited.
