Aspen Creek and Oakhurst Energy merge to form new solar + storage development company

Aspen Creek Power Holdings and Oakhurst Energy Development have announced that they have joined forces to create a new company known as Headwater Energy. Headwater Energy provides a combination of solar and energy storage development and serves as an Independent Power Producer. The collaborative undertaking was established in 2020 and Aspen’s specialty lies in the financing, ownership, and management of large-scale solar projects across the country. Oakhurst, founded in 2022, is well known for its comprehensive skill set in the early and middle stages of large-scale solar energy projects, particularly in the southeastern United States. This merging of the two companies has been in the works since Aspen provided financial backing to Oakhurst at the start of 2022, based on their mutual understanding and respect for each other. Headwater Energy has seen great success by combining Aspen’s financial proficiency and Oakhurst’s development capabilities. The projects created have gone through each and every development, construction, and operational stage. The idea of the partnership began with forming the new business name, Headwater Energy. In total, Headwater Energy employs 13 individuals, controls 83 MWDC of current assets, and has seven plants in progress, as well as 4.3 GWDC of facilities in various stages of development. Headwater is now enabled to supervise solar-related proceedings from conception through monetization, benefitting from its combined understanding of generating, development, financing, and prolonged ownership, particularly concerning the regulated sectors of the Southeast.
