Campground Commissions 1.47 MW Solar Array

A new section with close to 3,500 solar panels has been built at the Wilderness Lakes Campground in Menifee, California by Thousand Trails. Using around 82,000 square feet of panels, this site produces a huge energy output of around 2.4 million kWh per annum. The solar panels recently installed by DSD Renewables and Black Bear Energy at Thousand Trails Wilderness Lakes will produce around 1.47 MW of energy, which is 50% of the total energy consumed by the campground, which contains more than 500 sites. Monica Ferrer, the senior director of energy and sustainability for Thousand Trails, commented that the solar panels not only provide environmental benefits, but also make their guests and members feel assured knowing that they are using energy from a renewable source. We are delighted to offer an extravagant service to guests and members while also illustrating our commitment to renewable energy, sustainability, and ecological consciousness. There are more than eighty spots in 23 US states and BC, Canada, in which Thousand Trails delivers RV parks and camping places.
