Chinese Firm Completes Semi-Submersible Offshore Floating Solar Power Platform

CIMC RAFFLES has just given CIMC Solar Marine Technology (Yantai) Co. Ltd. a semi-submersible offshore floating solar energy structure. The platform has been moved to an assigned place for installation. The four floating structures make up the whole platform and its total output is about 400 kilowatts. Additionally, its overall deck area covering about 1900 square meters. This platform is designed with eight systems, such as a floating structure support, buoyancy material, multi-body connection and mooring, fender collision avoidance, photovoltaic power generation and inverter, intelligent monitoring, dynamic subsea cable transmission, and energy utilization. It can be used in open ocean areas with waves up to 6.5 meters, wind speeds of maximum 34 meters per second, and tidal differences of up to 4.6 meters. Moreover, CIMC RAFFLES and Yantai Municipal Government jointly created CIMC Solar to offer fully developed solutions for offshore photovoltaic energy. This PV power platform installation and delivery proved the company’s capability to manufacture commercial-scaled semi-submersible PV platforms, declares CIMC.
