Community solar developer Dimension pledges to invest millions in solar workforce development

By December 13, 2023, the deadline will have been reached. Dimension Renewable Energy has declared that it will use $5 million to teach 1,500 solar technicians nationally. Dimension is furthering their work with nonprofits, high schools, community colleges, and other educational centers by committing to provide in-classroom instruction on solar installation, training on simple solar manufacturing methods, and official OSHA safety approval. The firm runs active and upcoming training activities with groups across the country and is intent on delivering labor skills to communities that have traditionally been far removed from the population. In New Jersey, where Dimension just disclosed 14 megawatts of fresh community solar projects, over fifty individuals have taken part in training and educational programs provided by the company. The members or participants had the chance to get practical learning at Dimension’s sites for a project. Bryan Bentrott, who is the VP for origination at Dimension, emphasized that being affiliated with the ‘community’ is vital to who they are as a solar developer. We are focused on providing clean energy to everyone and we are determined to employ local people in order to bring economic benefits to the community from our projects. Dimension is providing an avenue for people in New Jersey and the rest of the nation to get involved in community solar, thereby helping them move up the career ladder in the places where they reside. We are using New Jersey as an example of what we are starting in several other states.
