CSI Solar unveils 5-MWh containerized ESS
By December 3rd, 2023. Canadian Solar is set to introduce SolBank 3.0, a 2.35-MW/5-MWh LFP energy storage system. Housed within a 20-ft container, this new system has a 45% increased capacity and 40% reduced commissioning time from its last version which debuted a year ago. Additionally, the SolBank 3.0 includes a pack and electrical redundancy safety system, wise fault discovery, multiple fire alarm and suppression safeguards. The improved thermal management system lowers the amount of supplementary energy needed by as much as 30% compared to the prior version. The latest version of SolBank, 3.0, is designed to be adjustable and broken down into pieces, so it works with multiple power conversion systems. Colin Parkin, President of e-STORAGE, explained that this technology revolutionizes the energy storage industry with higher reliability and better performance. SolBank 3.0 offers remarkable new components such as cells with a higher energy density and an advanced safety design. The e-STORAGE department further provides additional beneficial services, for instance, keeping the data system capability consistent, running and maintaining the system, and maximizing the plant’s efficiency. I am filled with admiration for our e-STORAGE team for their hard work in creating groundbreaking energy storage solutions and offering our clients superior quality services. Large, pre-packaged energy storage systems are becoming increasingly popular, a trend that SPW analyzed in this article. Read more about it if you are interested.
