Deriva Energy Commences Commercial Operation at Pike Solar

Deriva Energy has started business operations at Pike Solar in El Paso County, Colorado. The Pike Solar plant is located on 1,310 acres south of Colorado Springs and boasts a 175 MW capacity. It is the first solar plant to be commercially operational under the new Deriva brand. The plant will provide energy to Colorado Springs Utilities through a 17-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Deriva Energy’s president, Chris Fallon, expressed his gratitude towards the local community, state stakeholders, and the devoted team behind the solar plant’s completion. “This marks a crucial stage in reaching the sustainable energy objectives of Colorado Springs Utilities, as we anticipate supplying homes and businesses with new, eco-friendly electricity.” JUWI successfully finished the development, engineering, and building of Pike Solar’s project. They will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance services thereof. Deriva Energy will hold ownership of the plant and split the tasks of operations and maintenance with JUWI.
