Developer Closes Financing for 266 MW Solar Project
Swift Current Energy has secured project funding from ING Capital LLC, and also received a commitment for tax equity from Morgan Stanley Renewables Inc. ING was the lone financial manufacturer and advisor on the 266 mega watt solar farm being constructed in the southeastern corner of Texas. The plant is set to be working by the conclusion of 2023. Morgan Stanley has pledged to finance the tax expenses associated with the project. Swift Current Energy is in charge of the development and will possess them for the long haul, says Eric Lammers, CEO and co-founder of Swift Current Energy. They have a combined capacity of over 1 GW of solar and wind energy projects in progress throughout various power markets and states. We are thankful for the assistance provided by ING and Morgan Stanley concerning the Tres Bahias Solar project and we anticipate expanding our collaboration with them as we progress with our wind, solar and storage efforts found in multiple locations across the U.S. First Solar is providing the necessary solar panels for the project. Swift Current chose IEA Constructors, which specializes in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) in the area of renewable energy, to overlook the development of the venture. Legal representation for Swift Current was provided by Vinson & Elkins and Husch Blackwell. Latham & Watkins acted as attorneys for ING, and Mayer Brown and Jackson Walker acted as lawyers for Morgan Stanley.
