Duke’s Clean Energy Connection program includes initiatives situated in both Bay and Madison counties. The construction of Mule Creek Renewable Energy Center (74.9-MW) and Winquepin Renewable Energy Center (74.9-MW) will create around 200 to 300 temporary jobs by the end of the year. The Mule Creek project is set to take place on a 700 acre property and will contain buffers to benefit the community located in Bay County, Florida. Winquepin Renewable Energy Center is planned to be constructed on 530 acres in Madison County, Florida. According to Duke Energy Florida State President Melissa Seixas, the projects will not only aid in increasing the state’s energy diversity, but they will enhance the local economy as well.
