East Coast Utility Issues RFP for New Solar PV Generation

Dominion Energy Virginia has put out a call for proposals to obtain new solar, onshore wind, and energy storage developments within the state. These acquisitions would give Virginia customers the energy they need in the future as indicated in the business’ most updated Integrated Resource Plan. The initiatives will likewise aid the business in satisfying the demands of the Virginia Clean Economy Act and adhering to its vow of net zero greenhouse gas discharges by 2050. Proposals will be accepted constantly throughout the year. The firm is looking for strategies involving new solar photovoltaic (PV) generating capacity and new solar PV production paired with storage capacity. Concerning the solar plans, they are searching for both larger utility-scale projects with more than 3 MW and limited distributed projects with a size of 3 MW or less. The company will only accept proposals for facilities situated in Virginia for distributed projects that require 3 MW or less. Moreover, preference is given to solar and onshore wind projects on lands formerly utilized for industrial or landfill purposes.
