First phase of Ohio’s largest solar project is now delivering energy to grid
As of | January 10, 2024. Enbridge and EDF Renewables North America have accomplished the first phase of Ohio’s biggest solar project. The completion of the Fox Squirrel Solar, a 749-MWDC project in Madison County, is expected by the end of the current year. The initial phase, which is equivalent to 194 MW, is currently supplying energy to the PJM grid. The second and third phases, offering 325 MW and 230 MW respectively, are anticipated to become operational later this year. At the height of the initial construction phase, there were 650 workers on-site fitting 10,000 panels every day. The entire project has a secured 20-year PPA. Matthew Akman, Executive Vice President Corporate Strategy and President, Power, Enbridge, expressed his joy at launching the first phase of the Fox Squirrel solar project as part of their broadened strategic alliance with EDF Renewables.
