First Solar Purchases Future Ohio Distribution Site

The company plans to transform a site in Troy Township, Ohio, previously known as Peloton Output Park, into a new distribution hub. This facility will support the company’s three manufacturing sites in Ohio, which collectively had a capacity of around 6 gigawatts by the end of 2023. According to the company, there is a necessity to enhance their logistics and distribution operations in accordance with the planned expansion of Ohio’s manufacturing capacity by nearly 1 gigawatt within the year. Mike Koralewski, the Chief Supply Chain Officer of First Solar, states that the repurposed site will play a crucial role in the efficient and prompt delivery of solar modules to clients, establishing it as a key distribution center for what’s considered the most extensive solar production area in the Western Hemisphere. We anticipate that this method will enable us to optimize our logistical processes, decrease operational expenses, and aid in achieving our cost-cutting strategy goals.
