GSI Buys Saturn Power, Adding to Solar Development Pipeline

This acquisition will come with the transfer of the development team and a 1.4 GW pipeline of solar and energy storage projects in five U.S. states and two Canadian provinces. GSI clarified that they would be able to increase their development capabilities and increase their presence in the United States to a total of twelve states (New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, Florida, Minnesota, Michigan, Colorado, Illinois, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington), as well as add Alberta and Saskatchewan in Canada. CEO of GSI, Mazen Turk added his enthusiasm for the deal, saying that the addition of members from Saturn Power’s team would help create a business of renewable energy development that had the ability to quickly and efficiently transform communities. By taking over this entity, the combination of both management teams will greatly raise our capacity for making sustainable energy projects that are useful, useful, and necessary all over the nation. This is an indication of our ambition to develop our clean energy capacity up to 5 GW by the year 2029. This purchase includes 72 solar projects, with 90 percent of them being community solar, and six battery storage projects. GSI’s acquisition of a pipeline will add talented energy experts, engineers and managers to their staff, resulting in a total of over 50 employees. GSI is also intending to invest $200 million across North America, including in the development of aforementioned pipeline.
