Kentucky’s Largest Privately Funded On-Site Solar Project Comes Online

Today, Stanley Black & Decker, along with Castillo Engineering and RPG Energy Group, introduced the biggest privately owned on-site solar project in Kentucky, with 4.3 MW of renewable energy. Spanning around 15 acres, the solar farm is able to generate enough energy to fuel Stanley Black & Decker’s 280,000 sq. ft. facility. A production facility located on site will generate energy in excess of what the state needs. This project is believed to enfranchise an annual energy saving of $400,000 and cut emissions of 5,500 metric tons of CO2, which marks a major achievement seeing as Stanley Black & Decker is aiming to get carbon neutral by 2030. Rob Kirts of Stanley Black & Decker also declared, “We are honored to celebrate this success, especially on Earth Day.” Through our partnership with Castillo Engineering and RPG Energy, we strive to accomplish our ambitions for sustainability and bring our motto – For Those Who Make The World – into fruition.
