Meyer Burger Looking to Streamline Solar Module Manufacturing
The Meyer Burger company has a module production plant situated in Freiberg. Meyer Burger Technology AG has indicated they are unveiling a singular product line for their solar modules which can be used to augment production speed and reduce the likelihood of error. Meyer Burger believes that their products have high durability, generate power bi-directionally, has lower weight, reliable performance, and a wide range of colors. This product platform is expected to help increase manufacturing speeds by doing away with long pauses between product changes and complex procurement tasks resulting from multiple types of products. This will give Meyer Burger the opportunity to take advantage of more possibilities for lowering manufacturing expenses. The company also plans to invest its research and development into a shared platform. This platform is said to be compatible with reportedly upcoming cell technologies, IBC-HJT and HJT-perovskite tandem, to ensure progression of Meyer Burger’s plan. The design of the production lines for the Goodyear site in the U.S. were envisioned with this new product platform in mind. Improvements to the Freiberg factory are projected to begin in the second three months of the year, with the debut of the third production line at the facility to initiate during the summer period.
