Michigan lithium battery maker to produce ESS for utility-scale applications

By February 23rd, 2023. Michigan business Our Next Energy has unveiled a giant LFP battery unit known as Aries Grid. Mujeeb Ijaz, the CEO and creator of the business, spoke about the importance of energy storage, mentioning that it is needed to make both the transportation and power systems less reliant on carbon. Aries Grid is providing the required safe and more ecologically sound utility-scale energy storage systems to respond to the current market demands that were previously too expensive than fossil fuels. This has been enabled by the Inflation Reduction Act. The IRA brought about the implementation of techniques that let ONE and the people who use its services gain the benefits of price offsets for products and investment incentives distributed by the federal government to create Aries Grid. Aries Grid is now available with renewable energy support, making baseload generation more feasible in some markets. Consequently, utilizing ONE’s Aries 79-kWh battery pack, it will be offered in 2-, 3-, and 6-MWh units that deliver a 4-12 hour discharge time. With this new tool, utilities will have access to a versatile asset, and businesses with a way to reduce their carbon footprint, according to Dr Deeana Ahmed, VP of Strategy, Policy & Sustainability at ONE. There is a feasible solution for augmenting renewable energy globally and domestically that involves utilizing long-lasting, eco-friendly batteries produced in Michigan. A recent report from ONE has been released.
