National Grid Renewables starts construction on largest solar project in Kentucky

Before the end of December 14th, 2023. On December 14, National Grid Renewables declared that the assembly process for the Unbridled Solar initiative had begun in Henderson and Webster Counties, Kentucky. National Grid Renewables is thrilled to be assembling the biggest solar power facility in Kentucky at 160 megawatts. Blake Nixon, the president of National Grid Renewables, remarks that they are both proud and enthused that the plant should be operational by 2024. Unbridled is our inaugural venture in this state and clearly illustrates our investment in the shift to clean energy and all the advantages it brings to the economies of rural parts of the US such as additional tax money and various jobs. It is believed that the project will create approximately $42 million in economic profits in the course of two decades. This will generate over 200 job opportunities, increase taxation worth more than $11 million, and bring earnings of more than $24 million to the local agriculturists and property owners. Big Rivers Electric Corporation’s PPA with the Unbridled Solar Project was announced in advance, and it will be Wanzek Construction that will be dealing with the development. Bob Berry, who is President and CEO of Big Rivers Electric Corporation, expressed his enthusiasm, noting that this solar project will add to the varied forces used to give Members-Owners reliable, stable, and environmentally friendly power. This major undertaking gives priority to our area by investing in solar initiatives that provide financial advantages to the local community and create electricity for those who rely on our services.
