Naturgy Begins Construction on Second U.S. Solar Plant
Naturgy has started building the Grimes project in Texas, which is anticipated to have a 210 MW capacity. The plant will encompass over 1,600 acres and consist of 515,33 PV modules, with plans to be fully functional by next year, according to the group. This project follows Naturgy’s inaugural U.S. renewable energy venture, 7V Solar Ranch. This operation recently began, boasting a power capacity of 240 MW and the ability to generate 560 GWh annually. The infrastructure is composed of more than 555,500 units scattered across approximately 1,900 acres. Presently, Naturgy is expanding a collection of over 30 projects rooted in solar technology, with a capacity exceeding 6 GW in the U.S., a crucial market for the conglomerate. The group operates over 3,000 MW of renewable energy outside Spain.
