Partners Kick Off Construction on Pair of Solar Projects
A ceremonial groundbreaking for the two solar farms in Clarksville, Tenn. took place on Wednesday by CDE Lightband, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), and Silicon Ranch. The two projects, Red and Orange Arrays, will have 2MW and 4.75MW capacities respectively and are planned to be in service in December providing municipal power to Clarksville. Brian Taylor, the CDE Lightband General Manager, commented that these solar farms will help reinforce reliability and not raise expenditure for locals, as well as attract new businesses to the area. I am immensely pleased with our association with TVA and Silicon Ranch, and am grateful for the constructive effort that each organization has put in to bring this about. TVA’s Doug Perry states that Solar Band shows what can be achieved when people unite with the same aim of using cost-effective and consistent renewable energy to fuel our growing economy. In collaboration with our allies, we are constructing the most sophisticated energy setup in the country to assist us in accomplishing our objectives for reducing carbon emissions and energy security.
