Pivot Energy, Design House Tapestry to Develop Six Community Solar Projects
Logan Duran. Pivot Energy has announced plans of creating six solar energy projects Countrywide in Illinois which will generate 33 megawatts. These projects are being developed alongside Tapestry, a seller of many designer brands such as Coach and Kate Spade. Tapestry has dedicated to investing in Impact Renewable Energy Credits created through the projects, and this will generate more than 50,000 MWh annually. The two companies will be investing $2,000 every megawatt constructed to benefit local community organizations. Generally, Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) are bought from existing wind farms but Impact REC agreements are structured to permit for the construction of new solar and, simultaneously, to invest in local communities. Tapestry and Pivot anticipate that these new community solar projects will annually produce an average of 51,760 MWh of clean electricity, sufficient to power over 6,000 average households. Regarding sustainability, Tapestry has stated that it truly is a business necessity. Logan Duran of Tapestry has pledged that by 2025, the company will get all of its electricity for their stores, offices, and fulfillment centers from renewable sources. We understand how influential alliances can be in bringing about major progress with regards to both environmental and social issues, which is why it fills us with pleasure to be collaborating with Pivot Energy in implementing these activities in Illinois.
