Renewable Properties inks nearly 9-MW solar + storage PPA with California CCA

The Renewable Properties company has already completed one California Climate Action project in the north. The firm and Sonoma Clean Power have recently agreed upon power purchase arrangements for two additional solar enterprises. A development in Ukiah that involves energy storage is among the plans. Two ventures will assist SCP’s EverGreen service with fulfilling its local energy strategy. This is the first and only California Community Choice Aggregation provider with the capacity to present its members with 163% renewable energy, produced locally through solar energy, energy storage, and geothermal energy around the clock. One of Renewable Properties’ solar developments will include a 4 MW/16 MWh battery, mainly used for stocking solar energy harvested in the afternoon and deployed in the evenings when customers require it most. As well as changing energy, the battery can proportionally allocate fluctuating solar energy, keep frequency (of electrical waves) at an even rate, and supply other grid services to solidify the power delivery system. Together, these solar panel and battery-focused projects will supplement the steady electricity supply from The Geysers – an extensive geothermal plant from the Southern California Public Power Authority. The chief operating officer of Renewable Properties, Brian von Moos, stated that the company is devoted to designing small-scale renewable energy projects that provide services to the areas in which they work. As a result of this, customers who have EverGreen subscription will be able to receive all of their energy from renewables at all times, bypassing the need to bring in gas-generated power when it is needed most. We are happy to back Sonoma Clean Power in their bold efforts to provide their clients with energy sourced from renewable sources. These projects make it possible for them to access this energy during peak demand. Works will start on the two developments in Mendocino County in the month of March 2024, and they are projected to finish before the beginning of 2025. This solar project in Laytonville, with a capacity of 4.99 MWAC, can produce enough electricity to supply 1,108 households each year.
