Siemens, Lightsource bp Finalize Major Solar Inverter Supply Agreement

Lightsource bp’s Penn State Solar Initiative. Lightsource bp has finalized a deal with Siemens for the distribution of solar inverters for an array of projects in the Midwest and Southeast. The two year contract will cover the use of over 850 MW of Siemens inverters, with the potential to increase by 200 MW, as part of the green energy initiative. The main components of the project entail the implementation of 4.3 MW to 4.7 MW central inverter stations, along with gas-insulated switchgear, step-up transformers, and auxiliary power facilities.
