SMA announces plans for U.S. inverter manufacturing

By December 12, 2023, the deadline will have passed. SMA Solar Technology declared their plan to broaden their manufacturing process to include a U.S.-based facility, with operations expected to be in effect by 2025. The organization is examining multiple states and potential collaborators to decide on the most ideal manufacturing spot and method. It is predicted that the site will be chosen during the first six months of 2024. SMA has the intention of constructing 3.5 GW of capacity on the new premises every year, with the potential to increase this amount over time. Up to 200 new positions are believed to arise within the initial three year timeframe, according to Jürgen Reinert, CEO of SMA. He commented, “The U.S. is a critical sector and the IRA offers an unequalled opening for lasting progress.” ”

By taking this action, we will significantly enhance our presence in the U.S. and establish a course for the expansion of SMA’s in the years to come. The need for more efficient energy sources that are environmentally-friendly is being felt throughout the world, and solar technology is being looked to as a possible solution.
