Jon Cole, the senior VP of development at Soltage, expressed pride over the commencement of building extra projects in the esteemed state of Illinois. People who sign up for these projects are able to get great deals on their electric bills and know that prices will remain stable for a long time, since these projects will remain operational for many years. The project portfolio includes Bolton Freeport Solar 1 with a capacity of 2.58 MWDC, Freeport Fairview Solar 3 with a capacity of 2.58 MWDC and Danville Michigan Solar 1 with a capacity of 1.81 MWDC. The solar initiatives are placed in Freeport and Danville. The announcement of these projects brings the number of Soltage’s community solar offerings in Illinois to eleven. These solar plans will be available to commercial, municipal, and residential patrons in the area, and will be provided in conjunction with longtime Illinois collaborator MC Squared Energy Services. These three projects, when they are completed, are expected to generate more than 10,000 MWh of green energy yearly and run for at least 40 years. Their purpose is to couple renewable energy and environmental rehabilitation by putting native foliage below the solar power units. These solar projects require 27 different kinds of native plants that are not tall and beneficial to pollinators to be planted on an area measuring more than 20 acres.
