Before the end of December 230, 20303. ComEd and Summit Ridge Energy revealed the ending of three local solar projects in Dekalb County, Illinois. The amount of community solar projects created by Summit Ridge in ComEd’s northern Illinois area has expanded to 150, which is a growth of a remarkable 2200%. ComEd and Summit Ridge are enthusiastic at taking a primary part in the increase of community powered solar in Illinois. Scott Vogt, VP of system and energy policy at ComEd, commented on the projects that will let ComEd clients reduce the fees they pay for their electric invoices while assisting the development of renewable energy and the purposeful clean energy objectives from Illinois. We are delighted to join forces with developers devoted to raising customer access to renewable energy, and we take our hats off to Summit Ridge for its commanding position in the blooming community solar sector in Illinois. A pair of Summit Ridge projects have been erected in Sandwich, Illinois, and one more in the town of Lee, featuring a collective 212,000 photovoltaic panels that cover 46 acres of land in DeKalb County. Altogether, these ventures will create roughly 8.7 MW of renewable energy, sufficient to power between one thousand and twelve hundred typical households. Summit Ridge Energy’s principal, Mark Raeder, expressed his satisfaction in aiding the expansion of the ComEd area into one of the most populous areas for community solar. He also added that their projects incorporate ground cover to benefit pollinators in the region.
