Summit Ridge Energy Awards EPC Contracts for Community Solar Projects
Joe Buckler’s Name Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises Incorporated According to Babcock & Wilcox Solar Energy Inc. B&W’s subsidiary has been granted contracts worth more than $15 million by Summit Ridge Energy LLC, an American commercial solar company, to plan, acquire and build five solar power facilities in Illinois. B&W will also be in charge of subcontractors, site coordination, supervision and electrical connections to the grid. These projects with a combined output of about 15 MW are planned to be completed in 2023. This is the second set of contracts awarded to B&W by SRE. In August 2022, B&W was given a number of projects worth a combined total of over $20 million to construct seven photovoltaic solar farms. Joe Buckler, the senior vice president of clean energy, commented that the demand for inexpensive and clean energy, alongside state and federal incentives for renewable energy, particularly for solar power, has resulted in an immense expansion of the market for community solar projects across the U.S. Particularly, the recently ratified U.S. Inflation Reduction Act has certain regulations for all solar initiatives, including community solar, which is sparking a heightened enthusiasm for progress.
