TSI Awarded Funds for Solar Window Development

Toledo Solar Inc (TSI) has been granted a financial package worth $8.8 million, courtesy of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Energy Technologies Office. Complemented by a $9 million contribution, the total investment into the commercialization of transparent and semi-transparent solar glass products for architectural windows has reached a staggering $17.8 million. According toAaron Bates, the Chief Executive Officer of TSI, this award assists the company in introducing domestic solar technology to novel energy markets, while creating numerous green energy manufacturing occupations. We are progressing quickly in conjunction with the University of Toledo and The National Renewable Energy Laboratory to make CdTe-based building-integrated photovoltaic windows commercially available.
