Washington’s largest solar project now connected to grid

By the end of February 28, 2023. Avangrid has officially turned on the Lund Hill Solar Farm in Klickitat County, Washington, which is the biggest solar photovoltaic (PV) installation in the state with a power capacity of 150 megawatts. The construction of Lund Hill provides PSE’s Green Direct program with a major new asset, displaying Avangrid’s dedication to hastening the shift to renewable energy resources in the United States. This was underlined by Avangrid CEO Pedro Azagra when delivering his statement. We are glad to join forces with Puget Sound Energy to support their aims of lowering emissions and delivering dependable energy to their customers. Avangrid’s facility will be providing the solar energy for Puget Sound Energy’s second run of their Green Direct program. It has already managed to gain the membership of more than 40 customers, including six governmental organizations from Washington such as the Health, Ecology, and Transportation Departments (WSDOT) and more. This program permits individuals to acquire all of their energy from onsite, renewable sources in their local environment. Lund Hill, situated on nearly 1,800 acres, which combines private landowners along with land from the Washington Department of Natural Resources, is the locality of the state’s initial solar power land contract. According to Avangrid, this is the latest development.
